About us

We met in South Africa in 1996. From the very beginning we found that we wanted to live, work and experience life together. Not only live parallel lives. We found that we had similar dreams, goals and that we both were committed not only to make it work but to make the most of it, this adventure called life.
We worked in Africa and when we didn’t have groups to take care of, we travelled by ourselves. In 1997 we cycled to Rwanda to fullfil a dream – meeting the mountain gorillas of Virunga. It was a crazy and tough trip. We were happy to come home alive to be honest. That same summer we went to Tiveden on our bikes. It was like coming to paradise. One night we put up the tent by Stora Trehörningen. The lake was completely still, it felt as if you could reach out and touch the silence. Only the loon was calling.
It was one of those multidimensional experiences that we will keep in our hearts for ever. A magic moment – it felt so safe, so clean, so wild but still so welcoming. It was like coming home. And 5 years later Ösjönäs actually became ours, not only emotionally.
By then we had started Aktivera and we took our firstborn child, horses and some of our clients with us to Tiveden. Today both the family and the business have grown. / Klas & Jessica Sannö

Our co-workers

We are genuinely grateful for all the guests that find their way to Ösjönäs and make it possible for us to continue holding this space open for people that want to come closer to nature in different ways. It wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic co-workers and family. May we proudly present:

Klas Sannö

I have worked with experiences and adventures all my life. I have been running Ösjönäs in Tivedens National Park together with my wife Jessica Sannö for 15 years. When I don’t spend time with all our guests, I love to travel, ski, paddle and enjoy the outdoors.

Jessica Sannö

Coming to Tiveden was to come home. You will find me with my children, with the horses, in the fight for the forest, on the yoga mat and in many roles. I have worked with people and active nature experiences as an entrepreneur throughout my life. Nature is my passion.

Lina Vestman

I left Stockholm for Tiveden 2017. Ösjönäs is like my second home and I spend most of my days here either in the reception, or on the horse back guiding guests on our rides, or with other activities. I’m also responsible for our website.

2008 I started working at Ösjönäs and started my own company as a masseur. I work a lot with the high-rope course on Ösjönäs, which I also built, but also with other activities such as cooperation exercises, pentathlon, paddling, etc. In my spare time I like to take out the kayak on a trip or train Chinese martial arts (Tai chi chuan).

Gabriella Andersson

I’m born with a love for horses, and also with a wish to travel and explore the world. My ancestral roots are firmly based in Tiveden, and this is where my heart lies. I am at home in the forest of sagas, preferably on horseback, together with “the man in my life”, Solfari. At Ösjönäs I help out with guided forest tours on horseback, when I’m not busy teaching at the university.

Theresa Melin

My heart belongs to animals and nature, but I also like to draw, to paint and to be creative. I study the arts at upper secondary school, which takes up a lot of my time. So does spending time with my cat, Cici. At Ösjönäs you will find me in the fields with the horse and the sheep, or with Zimba (the farm dog), when I’m not in the forest on a guided horse trail.

Leif Gustavsson

A greater part of my life has been about sports and outdoor activities, both on a professional level as well as leisure. Summer and winter! I am here because Tiveden has got it all! You will find me at the High Ropes or at some other outdoor activity here at Ösjönäs.

Berit Gustavsson

I have left my career behind and can now enjoy outdoor life at full scale. Hiking, biking, canoeing, riding and ice skating. Every season has something to offer! At Ösjönäs I am mainly occupied with horses and riding tours but I am happy to engage in other outdoor activities.
